Washingtonia is a genus of palm trees, native to the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. Both species of Washingtonia are commonly grown across the southern United States, the Middle East, southern Europe, and North Africa, where they have been heavily hybridized.

Acalypha hispida, is a shrub in the family Euphorbiaceae, the subfamily Acalyphinae, and the genus Acalypha. Acalypha is the fourth largest genus of the family Euphorbiaceae, and contains many plants native to Hawaii and Oceania.
